Moved to Better Pastures

Due to the continual appalling behavior of blogger, I've now moved to my own WordPress blog. I exported my posts from this blog and three others over to ScreamingSardine. I hope you'll join me over there. If you're a follower here, I hope you'll follow over there!

I'll still be doing lazy chef recipes over there - just combining a bunch of other posts there as well. :)

Strawberry Delight

Here's a ridiculously quick and easy recipe that's great for the summer time.

Srawberry Delight
Strawberry cake mix
Strawberry Creme pudding

Make the strawberry cake according to package directions. In the meantime, make some strawberry creme pudding, only don't use as much milk. If the directions call for 2 cups cold milk, use just 1.5 cups. (Or, if you really want something rich, use whipping cream instead of milk).

Once the cake is cooled, you can either use the pudding as frosting, or just glop it on top of your piece of strawberry cake. It's a really nice and creamy dessert. I'm not a big fan of traditional frosting, so I prefer my "frosting" in a modified form of pudding.

Please note my future recipe posts will now be over at ScreamingSardine because blogger screwed up one too many times.

Easy Pineapple Coconut Cake

Please note I've moved this blog to: Screaming Sardine!

Here's a quick and easy recipe for Pineapple Coconut Cake. If you're wanting a pina colada taste, I imagine you could put some rum flavoring into the cake or frosting.

Quick and Easy Pineapple Coconut Cake
white cake mix
large can of crushed pineapple
8 ounce container of whipped cream
flaked coconut

Mix white cake mix and large can of crushed pineapple together, liquid included. You shouldn't have to add anything else to the cake mix because it will be moist enough.

Bake according to package directions.

When cooled, combine the container of whipped topping and as much coconut as you like. Pile on the cake and enjoy!

This is really yummy, and gets better after the first day, in my opinion It's really nice on a warm day since the cake has to be refrigerated.

Root Beer Float Cake

This is a yummy quick and easy recipe to whip up when you have a hankering for something sweet.

Root Beer Float Cake

White cake mix (you can use chocolate, too. I've done that, and it's yum, though you don't taste the root beer as much)
2 1/4 cup root beer, chilled, and divided
1/4 cup oil
2 eggs
1 envelope whipped topping mix (like Dream Whip)

Grease 13 x 9 baking dish. Combine cake mix, 1 1/4 cup root beer, oil, and eggs. Beat until well blended. Pour into baking dish. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes at 350 degrees.

Cool completely.

Combine remaining root beer and whipped topping mix. Beat until soft peaks form (a few minutes). Frost cake.

Easy Ham and Potato Casserole

This is one of those quick and easy recipes that you can just toss some ingredients together into a casserole dish and throw it in the oven.

Easy Ham and Potato Casserole

Simply mix cut up ham and peeled, cut up potatoes in a casserole dish wish some green beans and a can or two of cream of mushroom soup. If you don't want to peel and cut up potatoes, tater tots make an excellent substitution! Then it's called Tater Tot Casserole. Yum! It's especially good on a chilly or rainy day/night. Makes great leftovers, too.
